Vimto Out of Home, supplier of leading soft drinks brands for hospitality and leisure, has announced it will be the exclusive post mix distributor of the UK’s best-selling ginger beer brand1, D&G Old Jamaica Ginger Beer2 – making it available on draught for the first time.
With a 95% share of the branded ginger beer market, Old Jamaica Ginger Beer is the UK’s number one ginger beer brand3. From July 2022 it will join Vimto Out of Home’s line-up of leading post mix brands, which not only includes its own range of post mix juices, mixers and carbonates, including Vimto and Sunkist4, but also leading brands such as Coca-Cola, Pepsi and Irn-Bru. The company is the only UK supplier able to install both leading cola brands.
Old Jamaica Ginger Beer is the only ginger beer to be made with root ginger from Jamaica and, as well as a refreshing soft drink in its own right, is the perfect mixer for rum, which continues to grow in popularity in the UK – CGA figures show rum is now the fourth largest spirits category by value in the UK on-trade, up 27% in volume in the last quarter of 2021 compared to 2019 (the last comparable quarter)5.
As well as in mixed drinks, Old Jamaica Ginger Beer can also be used in a range of cocktails, making it a valuable addition to the post mix offer, as cocktails continue to grow in the UK – the category is now worth 2% of all drinks sales in pubs according to CGA6.
As the exclusive supplier of the only branded post mix ginger beer in the UK, Vimto Out of Home will now be able to help operators tap into these opportunities, as well as continuing to offer its customers an even more extensive choice of quality branded and unbranded soft drinks on draught for their venues.
